2. Scope

This Policy covers information processed in connection with:

• This website and its pages, games, and interactive tools
• Embedded third-party content (for example, YouTube)
• Hosting, security, analytics, advertising, and similar technologies we use or may add
• Email or other messages you send us about the site

It does not cover third-party websites we link to, including YouTube, Wikipedia, museum sites, or Honest Abe Marketing’s own marketing site, except to the extent those services process data as our providers when you use Wait, What?.

3.1 Information you provide

We may collect information you choose to send us, such as an email address, name, and message content if you contact us. We do not currently require an account to use the site.

3.2 Information collected automatically

When you visit the site, we and our service providers may automatically collect:

• Device and browser information (type, language, approximate time zone)
• IP address and general location derived from IP
• Pages viewed, referring URLs, timestamps, and interaction events
• Cookie and similar identifiers (see our Cookie & Tracking Notice)
• Local storage preferences you set (for example, motion on/off and privacy choices)

3.3 Information from third-party embeds and platforms

If you play a YouTube video on this site, YouTube (Google) may set cookies or receive identifiers and view data under Google’s policies. We use YouTube’s privacy-enhanced embed mode where available and load the player after you choose to play. Your use of YouTube is also subject to Google’s terms and privacy policy.

• Legal and safety recipients, when we believe disclosure is required by law or needed to protect people, property, or rights
• Business transfers, such as a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets involving Honest Abe Marketing LLC

We do not sell your email address as a standalone contact list. Under some U.S. state laws, “sale” or “sharing” can include disclosing personal information to advertising or analytics partners for cross-context behavioral advertising. You can opt out on our Your Privacy Choices page.

6. Cookies, pixels, and similar technologies

We use essential technologies to run the site and optional technologies for analytics and advertising. Details, categories, and controls are in the Cookie & Tracking Notice. You can change choices anytime via Your Privacy Choices or the “Cookie settings” link in the footer.

We will verify requests as required by law. You may use an authorized agent where state law allows. If we deny a request, we will explain how to appeal where an appeal right applies.

7.1 California (CCPA/CPRA)

California residents can opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information and of cross-context behavioral advertising. Use the “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” controls on Your Privacy Choices. We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals as an opt-out of sale/share where required.

Categories of personal information we may collect include identifiers, internet/network activity, geolocation (coarse), inferences, and commercial/advertising data. We collect them for the purposes in Section 4. We do not knowingly sell the personal information of consumers under 16.

7.2 Other U.S. state privacy laws

If you live in a state with its own privacy law (Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, and others as they kick in), you may have similar rights to access, delete, correct, or opt out of targeted ads or “sale.” Use the same tools above. We’ll follow the rules that apply where you live.

8. Children

Wait, What? is designed for a general audience, including families and curious learners. It is not directed to children under 13 as a destination for collecting personal information. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 provided personal information to us, contact admin@honestabemarketing.com and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

Parents and guardians: interactive activities on this site are meant to work without creating an account. Third-party video platforms may have their own age rules.

9. Retention

We keep information only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described above, including legal, security, and accounting needs. Cookie lifetimes vary by provider; see the cookie notice. Local preference storage remains until you clear it or change settings.

10. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures appropriate to the nature of the data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

11. International visitors

We operate this site for a U.S. audience and process information in the United States. If you visit from elsewhere, you understand your information may be processed in the U.S., where laws may differ from those in your country.
